It was established in 1956 as a wildlife sanctuary and was declared a tiger reserve in 1973. The reserve covers an area of 2750 sq. km and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is also known for its unique topography, which includes mountains, valleys, waterfalls, and dense forests. In this essay, we will discuss the history, geography, flora and fauna, conservation efforts, and tourism potential of the Similipal Tiger Reserve.
