Story of the Golden Feather A war against destiny. A race against time.

Author Name: Amrit Sappal | Format: Paperback | Genre : Literature & Fiction | Other Details

Back in 1970, when depression claims the life of a young engineer Abhishek Kumar, little had he imagined what his unexpected suicide would possibly lead to. Unbeknownst to him, an historical curse grips his soul when he jumps into the iconic Sukhna lake of Chandigarh.

In heaven, unlike others, Abhishek’s soul is debarred by God from entering the Castle of Souls. Instead, it is transformed into the Water-God and repatriated back to Sukhna to finish his expiation by teaching humans about the significance of life.

Nearly five decades later in 2017, he finally gets this chance when a boy named Afzal Khan from the same college PEC, who too was on the verge of depression mistakenly summons the Water-God out of the Sukhna lake. He gets three wishes in return, but with a few restrictions which must always be followed.

A tragedy occurs when Afzal breaks one of these restrictions and puts his dearest friend Caroline’s life in danger. Now to save his friend, he must put his own life at stake. But he will get only 24 hours to save both of them.

Will Afzal take the risk?
Will Abhishek complete his expiation?
Will destiny be defied this time?

Amrit Sappal

Born and raised in the beautiful city of Chandigarh, Amrit Sappal has always been an avid book lover since his graduation days, when he was introduced to the magical realm of novels for the very first time. After getting the taste for reading, he never looked back and kept adding titles to his reading list.

He solemnly believes that books are an escape to a better world where “anything” is possible. Having self-experienced the initial symptoms of depression, he decided to create a fictitious character to resuscitate the magic of life in the hearts of readers, by taking them on a journey to his hometown. This is his debut novel, the first in sequence of The Careless Indian Trilogy.
