Sujata P. Swain is the proud wife of a successful doctor, a mother of two sons and now serving as a senior civil judge in Orissa. As a child, she grew up listening to fairy tales, mythological stories and historical stories from her mother, a Sanskrit scholar, and developed a penchant for stories. She lost her mother to cancer in her teens. Her father, an Indian Police Service officer, was her teacher and guide.
