The book is about the struggles that a girl faces in her daily life. It relates something very dark that she had faced before, fought her demons all throughout. She feels drained as if a devil has sucked out all of her energy in every possible way. So, once she had enough, she seeks her way to writing in her blank pages as her love grows more clearly realizing her self worth at last.
The title is kept such "The Shrunken Black Rose" because we appreciate the beauty of red roses that indicates deep sense of love and Romanticism but we don't give much reference to black roses. For author, black rose is a rare thing beauty. This book is written with the objective of having a deep perspective behind the true meaning of the poems while the readers comprehend it.

My name is Aparupa Saikia. I belong to the state of Assam. Recently, I have done my major in Botany honours from D.H.S.K college under Dibrugarh University. I m just a plain jane from a small town trying to reach her goals. I invested my time into art of writing poetry from the age of sixteen. From then onwards, it has made a great impact on my life that changed and became good. I had certain instances that had really affected my health. So, I resorted to writing because it gave me immense peacefulness in order to gain my "happy to go" space. Writing had not been my forte at first but later on, I took this opportunity to express my contemplations in order to achieve my goal by turning it into a book. Other than this, my other fields that I most take interest in would be singing, dancing and playing sports.
