GAUTAM GAN Born on April 23, 1953 Gautam Gan grew up in a joint family surrounded by grandparents, uncles and aunties in a household that gave importance to culture and literature. Graduated with Honours in English from St.Paul’s College the author completed his MA from Jadavpur University and entered the professional world of Banking in 1974. After 35 years of journey through ten banks in India and also testing the soil of Micro Finance for a couple of years, Gautam Gan did hang up his boot and picked up his pen to unfold his heart and narrate his experience through stories and poems. We thus come across publication of two books namely “Confessions of a Banker” and “Retail – the Lifestyle Banking” in 2016 and 2019 respectively. Additionally his poetic soul found its way through two books – “Ratnabali” and “Nourelle”. “They Crossed the Border” is a tale that tells the story of migration of a zaminder family from a hamlet in present day Bangladesh to India post partition. A committed member of Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) and Calcutta Management Association (CMA) Gautam Gan is Director on the various Boards of M.P.Birla Group.
SREYASHI GAN Sreyashi, the co-author of the book is popularly known as Sneha in know circle and is the daughter of Gautam Gan. An Honours graduate in Psychology from Sophia College, Mumbai, the young author obtained her MSc in International Human Resource Management from UK. Her poem “Looking Back” was published by GREENSPRING PUBLISHING, USA in their collection of poetic works, “Voices” where among 56 poets, her composition was the only poem representing from Asia.
