Manik Saikia did BE (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in 1981. He worked for Indian Oil Corporation Limited for 35 years before he hung up his boots. His first novel, Heaven Descends on Our Earth, published in 2019, has been well-recognised by readers.
