Retired as Principal Scientist of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the author has 39 years of research experience in plant sciences and crop genetic resources and has published 78 research papers in national/international journals, chapters in 7 books, 12 books/crop catalogues, 23 magazine articles and presented papers in 30 conferences. A Master’s degree Gold medalist from University of Madras (1974) and PhD (1986), he has worked since 1978 on economic/medicinal plants; crops/fruit varieties and their wild relatives. Under an Indo-US PGR project, he has visited USA in 1995.
