Dr. Ir. Manas G. Roy
Born in Kolkata, Dr. Manas G. Roy migrated to Europe in 1986 after he obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree. Before leaving for Europe, he had a brief professional stint with some leading organizations in India. Later, he did his Master’s from the Dalhousie University of Canada as a Fulbright scholar. Subsequently, he received a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of London and another Doctorate in Marketing Management from the U.K. He served Philips Netherlands as Director and Vice-President of Global Marketing of the Component Division. Later, he became President and CEO of Siemens-EPCOS AG in Germany and stayed with the organization for more than two decades.
He has worked in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Singapore, Taiwan and China as Technologist & Head of Business Development, Marketing and Sales, building successful businesses for the multinational companies he has worked with until 2008. Later, for a few years, he was Dean of Engineering at a reputed College in Kolkata, India, and Visiting Lecturer for a few European institutes. He is now a consultant in the field of Global Marketing, Human Resources, with several leading organisations.
