David Francis Royce Baker, or simply David Baker in the literary world, is an accomplished author at the age of sixteen. His journey as an author began at the age of seven, and he was fourteen when he published his debut novel, The Chronicles of Cancatia: Divided.
David won the Golden Book Award 2023 for his debut novel, Divided. He is felicitated with the title The Best Author of the Year 2024 by Kalam Writer’s Forum of Bengal, a unit of Web Story India. He was recently ranked as one of the top fourteen eminent personalities who made India proud by Inkzoid Foundation, in an article in Indo-Asian News Service (IANS). Following the release of his debut, he has been featured in news articles of reputed news channels including The New Indian Express, United News of India, and Times of Malwa. He has won awards for his writing and elocution.
While not writing, David can be found immersing himself in expressing his creativity through painting and various forms of art, playing chess, learning new skills, and engaging in literary competitions and workshops.
He lives in Chennai with his family and two dogs. He studies at Montfort Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, St. Thomas Mount, Chennai, where he is the school pupil leader.
