Dear Reader, this book is in a form of ‘fictional interview’ where ‘Mr Sensex’ is our Indian market. And the interviewer tries to put him in situations and questions that try to extract valuable information from him. The idea of ‘Mr Sensex’ is derived from Benjamin Graham’s analogy of Mr Market and there may come instances throughout the interview where Mr Sensex may sound like Graham, Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch, Ashwath Damodaran, Philips Fisher, Charlie Munger and so on.
This book or this interview is not my attempt to claim authorship nor am I interested in that. I have no such academic training or literary skills which can be seen on every page where you come across spelling or grammatical mistakes. This is not a literal masterpiece, cannot be. But, this certainly is the investor’s guide. I have tried to simplify complex concepts in the easy and plain language with a use of metaphors and examples so you can get a better look at it.
This is my attempt to share what I have learnt, to show what I have seen. Hence, there could also be many opinions involved and sleep reading is not what I recommend. Each sentence, each word should be under your surveillance, you should try to differentiate between the fact and opinion, you pick out what you need and discard that you don’t.
Most of the topics that are essential and should be known are described herein and the book is designed from the perspective of the investor and for the benefit of the investor.
