B N Pandey holds a PhD in Hindi from Patna University. As a Hindi Pradhyapak and as an Assistant Director in the HTS/CHTI, Department of Official Language, MHA, Government of India, he has taught Hindi to non-Hindi speaking officials in Kolkata, Imphal, Chennai and Tiruchirapalli. His other books include ‘Up-To-Date Hindi Grammar’, ‘Applied Hindi Grammar’, ‘Official Correspondence and ‘Noting’ and ‘Up-To-Date Hindi-English Reader’. The Female Eagle was initially written in Hindi and was then translated into English for non–Hindi speaking Indian and overseas readers.
