K.Venkataraman is a mechanical engineer. He did his graduation from the College of Engineering, Guindy(presentlyAnna University) and post-graduation from Concordia University, Canada. He did his graduate apprenticeship in Durgapur Steel Plant of SAIL in the year 1971-72 and later worked with renowned engineering consultancy organisation, MECON for nearly 30 years.
