M.K. Raina Ratnakar is an Indian Broadcasting Service officer (IBS-retired), educationist and a media expert. He has a master’s degree in organic chemistry and education with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and physical sciences. His special interest has been educational psychology. Trained in film making and various programme productions from the prestigeous Film and Television Institute of India, Pune (FTII, Pune) Ratnakar has retired from Doordarshan as Deputy Director General (DDG). As a media expert, his guidance is highly valued in the fields of science education, health education and women and children's education. As a broadcaster, he has made notable achievements in the field of communication. He has authored several books, many of which have been best sellers. Ratnakar is originally from Srinagar city in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, but currently lives at Jammu and of course Delhi as well which generally is his area of work and activity.
