Dr. Balbir Singh Gill
Dr. Balbir Singh Gill obtained his PhD in Sports Psychology from the University of Melbourne, Australia. As a teacher, coach, mentor, and external examiner, he has always been forthcoming with sharing his knowledge, ideas, and expertise with his colleagues. He is a retired Director of the Sports Centre, University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. He was the inaugural Chairman of the Advisory Board of the National Coaching Academy in Malaysia and served from 2011 - 2015. He is a fellow for a few universities in Malaysia, consulting on the Sports Psychology curriculum. Currently, he is a consultant in sports science and sports psychology to national and state coaches and athletes. Professionally, he was elected as Chairman of the National Coaching Committee for the Malaysian Hockey Confederation in 2009 - 2011. He has coached hockey in Malaysia and Australia at the junior and elite levels. Dr. Balbir is also a supervisor and external examiner for Master's and PhD students. He has always been a great help to his students, the university, and the country. For his hard work and efforts, he was awarded the Sports Administrator award in 2016 by the University of Malaya.
