Nagaraj R. Kumbhar was born on March 3, 1987 in Village Heerur (B) in Gulbarga district. He recently received an M.V.A. from the University of Gulbarga. He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2010-12. Karnataka Rajotsava Award in Painting from Gulbarga University. And Lokmanya Tilak Award in Painting from Pune 2012.
He wrote many articles in Marathi, Kannada and English and published books. Lives and works as a freelance painter in Gulberg. Nagaraj Kumbhar is inspired by Cup, Kittel and society with nature. They have always opted for canvas and acrylic paint. He has done some raw materials and beautification experiments on using it aloud
