Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalFrom a corporate career to 18 countries - one Rubik's cube changed everything.
What does it take to reinvent your life at forty-five?
For Manish Rathod, a media professional from Ahmedabad, the answer arrived in the form of a small colourful cube at a Mumbai airport in July 2017. That single purchase set in motion one of the most remarkable late bloomer stories to emerge from India.
One Turn at a Time is the honest, inspiring story of a midlife reinvention. Entirely self-taught, Manish became a puzzle designer and created around 150 twisty puzzle designs, with nearly 90 archived in the Twisty Puzzle Museum. His invention, the Manish Hexacopter, is sold across 18 countries. His YouTube channel Manqube has crossed 1.3 million views. He has been profiled by the Times of India, Hindustan Times, and The Indian Express.
But this Rubik's memoir is not about puzzles. It is about what becomes possible when a person stops waiting for the right moment and simply begins. Eight years of learning, failing, designing, and making - one turn at a time.
It was not too late for Manish Rathod. It is not too late for you.
Profiled by Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express. Invited presenter, New York Puzzle Party. Manish Hexacopter sold in 18 countries.

Manish Rathod
Manish Rathod is a puzzle designer, collector, and YouTuber based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. After three decades in media and sales, he picked up a Rubik's Cube at a Mumbai airport in 2017 - at the age of forty-five - and discovered the creative life he had not known he was looking for.
Entirely self-taught, Manish has since created around 150 original twisty puzzle designs, with nearly 90 archived in the internationally renowned Twisty Puzzle Museum. His original invention, the Manish Hexacopter, was mass-produced by Calvin's Puzzles in 2025 and is now sold in more than 18 countries - making him one of the very few independent designers from India to have an original puzzle manufactured and distributed worldwide.
His YouTube channel, Manqube, has accumulated over 1.3 million views across more than 600 videos, covering puzzle tutorials, original designs, and solving guides. He has been profiled by the Times of India, Hindustan Times, and The Indian Express, and receives an annual invitation to present at the New York Puzzle Party - one of the world's premier puzzle events.
