Man can change his past karma through religion, but he has to suffer the karma of the past. God cannot stop the bondage of karma but develops the quality of equanimity to enjoy the karma. By which the strength to bear the karma can come. God has not tampered with your actions that if equanimity is achieved then the mind will be transformed. Dharma can change the actions of the present, but not the deeds of the past. So do your work with your eyes open
