Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThere is great agitation and debate as far as the birth or beginning of science fiction is concerned and it seems so because science fiction itself is a very broad and diverse field. It is often noticed that science fiction is the “literature of ideas” and “literature of change,” and it is notable that the culture or civilization is dynamically undergoing a lot of changes day by day because of scientific and technological progress and development. Frederik Pohl nicely defines it as “science fiction is a characteristic way of thinking about things.” The advancement in the field of science and technology has also been increasing in the world and simultaneously, human life is being operated and manipulated by machines and technology. The scholarly creative chapters incorporated in this anthology cover the different themes, ideas, and issues being depicted in science fiction literature, like cyberfeminism, Indian science fiction and spirituality, posthumanism, stratification, utopia, dystopia, movies and science fiction, technology and innovations, martian society, religious ideas in science fiction, parallel universe, science fiction literature and fantasy, science fiction and social welfare, time, space, and extraterrestrial life, etc.
