Researchers observed the effects of breakfast on various patients over a period of about 10 years and found that regular healthy breakfast reduces the likelihood of diabetes by about 30 percent. One possible explanation for this is that disappearing from breakfast can cause insulin resistance in the body, and insulin resistance is a characteristic of type 2 diabetes.
