A Bat and a Ball A cricket saga of Kansas Warriers

Author Name: K. G. Harshaa | Format: Hardcover | Genre : Children & Young Adult | Other Details

The inspiration for this book is my cricketing idol, Rishabh Pant, Indian cricketer! As you may know, after the accident in 2022, he suffered excruciating pain in his body and mind. But like a true phoenix bird, he has risen from the ashes and has come back to prove himself once again on the cricket field.

His passion, dedication, hard work and strong belief in himself is a great wound for me and he is my hero as a cricketer on the field, a tough warrior to achieve my goal off the field.

This story is all about an emotional rollercoaster with cricket as the background. I am going to make you immerse yourself in the lives of the players, their friendships and the challenges they face both on and off the field. It has a lot of unexpected twists and turns to nail biting moments and with some light-hearted humor and I am sure this is a saga that will keep you hooked.

We follow Charles our hero in this story though out his journey from being a inconsistent player on the field and selfish off the field to become a hero for everyone on the field and a lovable person off the field.

Will the Kansas Warriors lift the big trophy or settle for a small teacup? The suspense will keep you turning over the pages.

"A Bat and a Ball is a delightful read for cricket fans of all ages, a story that transcends the boundaries of the game to capture the essence of teamwork, determination and the joy of playing under the sun.

K. G. Harshaa

Kaliyamoorthy Gunasekar Harshaa (K.G. Harshaa), born on 8 July 2013 in Madurai, India, is a young cricket enthusiast and budding writer. He is currently studying 6th standard in Namakkal, Tamilnadu.

Since his childhood, he is known for telling short stories and funny dialogues to his elder brother and sisters, who always find him an entertainer. His sister encouraged him to read a lot of story books at the age of 6 and he used to discuss the story line, the plot and the spoilers with his sister. Seeing his interest in reading and analysing books, his sister asked him to write a story, but he continued to read more books and discuss each book in detail with her.

His interest in cricket was sparked when his brother took him out for a game of street cricket, teaching him the swing of the bat and the art of bowling. The way his brother cheers him up for his little actions makes him stop reading books and play cricket only.

He often plays alone with imaginary situations and players and when his sister noticed, she asked him to write his fantasies. This time, Harshaa thought it was a good idea and his passion for playing cricket helped him to get creative and write this book.
