Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThroughout history, the LGBTQIA+ Community has frequently been misrepresented and misunderstood. They have endured a variety of oppressive situations yet have triumphed in several nations throughout the world. Despite their numerous victories, they have consistently faced eradication efforts and are subject to criminal prosecution for any identification that deviates from the "norm."
This book serves as both a window into the path taken by this thriving community and a tool for the cis-heteronormative society to consider whether depriving them of their fundamental human rights is justified. Also, it is an opportunity for everyone to treat LGBTQIA+ individuals with the same love and respect that they would give themselves.
Francis H. Fernandes
Francis H. Fernandes, also known as The Emo Poet, was born and raised in The State of Kuwait, a tiny Middle Eastern peninsula nation. In 2016, he began writing, primarily with poetry and short quotes. His writing is inspired by the challenges he has endured in life and also incorporates the sufferings of other individuals. He started reading books and penning his own songs not too long ago. He adopted The Emo Poet as his pen name on his social media in September 2019. (Facebook and Instagram).
Francis is a Co-founder and Former Chairman of the Goa Rainbow Trust, an NGO based in Goa, India for the welfare of the LGBTQIA+ Community. He is an openly gay, androgynous (in terms of how he expresses his gender), homoromantic demisexual (an identity that lies on the asexuality spectrum), and demisexual writer. " I'm Human Too", one of his first poems on diversity, encourages people to treat one another with respect and recognize each other as fellow human beings. In his own words, "Diversity is acceptable, divisiveness is not." He is certain that the world may be improved for coming generations through love and acceptance of diversity.
