Syed Shariq Ahmed
Shariq Ahmed's inspiring story is a journey of perseverance, determination, and hard work. Growing up in a small town in India, Shariq had a passion for building things and dreamed of becoming an aeronautical engineer. Despite receiving his education in Urdu medium, he passed his 10th-grade exams in 2004 with a high percentage, which led to a phone call from a prestigious college in Hyderabad offering him a place in their 11th and 12th-grade program (2004-2006).
After compleetion of aeronautical engineering in 2010, Shariq struggled to find a job that matched his qualifications and faced numerous rejections. But he refused to give up on his dream and pursued a master's degree in aerospace engineering (2013) while gaining experience through internships and training. After years of hard work, Shariq finally landed a job (2014) in his field, but the workplace culture was not what he had hoped for.
Determined to create a better work environment, Shariq quit his job and started his own startup (2019), "Soaron," which means to go high and be in the sky with the high altitude. Starting his own business allowed him to create a workplace culture that aligned with his values, providing him with the freedom and autonomy he had been seeking. Despite facing numerous challenges, Shariq persevered, driven by a passion for creating something truly unique. Today, his startup has flourished, and he has created a culture that values freedom and autonomy.
Apart from his work at Soaron, Shariq has also started a social initiative called "Make Nikah Easy," aimed at making the process of getting married easier for people. Through this initiative, he has helped numerous couples navigate the complexities of the marriage process, providing them with support and guidance every step of the way.
In addition to his work, Shariq is a devoted father and spends time with his daughter Haziqah on a weekly basis. Together, they tell moral stories on Zoom every Friday for their close network. Shariq is currently working on creating animated cartoons for the project "Akhlaaq with Haziqah."
Shariq's story serves as an inspiration for many, showing how one can follow their passion while simultaneously making a positive impact on society. His determination to make a difference in the world is a true testament to his character, and his initiatives like "Make Nikah Easy" and his storytelling sessions with his daughter show his commitment to his family and community.
