Manek Premchand is a music lover who is strongly in love with the songs that Hindi cinema made, especially during the Golden years (roughly, mid-'40s to mid-70s). He teaches Broadcasting and Visual Communications at Xaviers College, Mumbai, and is an Advisor to The Manipal University Press, which has also published his books.
