Auto Driver is Shashvathi’s maiden poetry collection, a garland of the small nuances of everyday life, that make us a whole human. It is devoted to romanticising the everyday ‘normal’ in this world. It explores the contexts of observational romanticism, love, philosophy, art and the strange but beautiful, everyday condition of the human. It expels the poet’s love for her hometown, Chennai (Madras), and the intriguing and beautiful experiences that come along with living in it. Further, this book explores the constant awe and beauty of the world we live in and how much we take it for granted, running an eternal rat race of life.
Shashvathi’s poetry explores the unexplored, and weaves in aspects of conventional poetry, creating a sweet spot of balance for the reader.

Shashvathi S Hariharan is seventeen years old, born and brought up in Chennai. She is a connoisseur of all the three Cs of Chennai– Carnatic, filter Coffee, and Curd rice. A lifelong student of arts, she devotes her time to Carnatic music, books and writing. Shashvathi likes to explore all aspects of knowledge; wildly spiraling from an existential vagabond to a scientific intellectual, she is always up for intellectual banter and constructive debate about anything and everything under the sun. She has been learning Carnatic music for 9 years and is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Bhargavi Balasubramanian. She is also an accomplished MUNner and debater, always game for new experiences and refreshing perspectives. She runs a blog that covers all of her wild, contrasting explorations.
