BAUTIA ECHOES

Author Name: SIVA GOPAL OJHA | Format: Paperback | Genre : Travel | Other Details

This is a collection of impressions created in the author’s mind by the natural surroundings of a remote village of Bautia in Bengal over a period of about one year during 2017-2018. It reflects the imprints that the animate and inanimate create in an observer who feels an urge to share most of it.

The rice fields, the small river, distant hills, trees, shrubs, thorn bushes, flowers and trees tell a story which becomes apparent when they are viewed in the perspective of a unified existence. All of them may appear separate, but they are parts of the same entity through which nature makes its life current flow in some form or other, making them share the common ambience.

The echoes create a resonance which testifies to the existence of such an eventuality. There is a faint suggestion in the core of the stories that perhaps science and technology can never catch up to discover such a possibility when animates and inanimate can intermingle and communicate at ease. If such an idea percolates through the medium of this book to its readers, the author will feel grateful to the creator of it all.

SIVA GOPAL OJHA

Siva assumed various entities in different stages of his life.  Starting and spending most of his working life as an electrical engineer, he is a writer for the last couple of decades aspiring to entertain the reader with his stories and reflections. This book is no exception to his expressive self which speaks for itself.

His purpose is to swim in the fathomless depths of joy through the medium of words. The endeavour continues with the expectation that it will succeed sometime down the line. The transition of life through this world is what fascinates him most. By sharing, the joy of living the life becomes all the more attractive is what he believes in and wants to share.

The author loves to swim against the current trends. At the same time, he recognizes the importance of conventional wisdom. The classical way of life appears attractive to him in retrospect, and that is why he is fond of going back to nature every now and then to seek solace and happiness even in simple matters. One can find this trend appearing again and again in his reflections.
