Sathiavathy Pakiam Gunaratnam who pens by the name Pichui, is an avid storyteller who tries to focus on LGBTQ narratives that explore love, identity and the complexities of human relationships. Her work highlights the voices and experiences of queer characters, revealing their authenticity whilst highlighting their cries of despair due to society’s norms. Recommended by Pacific Book Review as well as the US Review of Books, her debut book, Crimson Red – Unconditional Love, is a Category Finalist in the 2022 Eric Hoffer Book Award.
