Neelu
Neelima (alias Neelu) is an upcoming writer. She has an M.A., B.Ed. in Hindi, and PGDGC in counselling. She is a long time high school teacher and administrator. She spent her childhood in suburban Delhi, rich with its quiet yet modern experiences. Her childhood was filled with the ever present curious and joyful spirit of the 60s and 70s middle-class India and she always dreamed of weaving this very magic into stories and poetry. Writing was always something she did, mostly for herself in the early years. She explored her literary side further in college where she performed plays on stage, on the radio and continued to express herself through her writing. During this time, she performed in plays with talented directors such as Virendar Saxena, Raja Bundela and Gyan Shivpuri. Much before Neelu became the mother of her own children, she discovered a deep, motherly quality that would often move her to go beyond her duty to help others. This love translated into a long and successful teaching career. It has been at the core of her being and it has held on through all the trials of life, through joy and through grief and through the loss of her son. It is this love that has compelled her to write through all the years and it is this love that her writing offers to her young readers. Publishing Neelu’s stories was something her son always wanted for her and this is her way of honoring his love for her.
