Sudakshina Kundu Mookerjee is a retired Professor of Electronics and Computer Science, who is based at Kolkata. She had begun publishing stories for children as a hobby during her student days. During her academic career, her writings mostly centred around scholastic articles and technical books. After retirement from active teaching, her hobby once more occupied central space in her intellectual world. She has since been writing stories, articles and travelogues for newspapers and magazines, in both English and Bengali. She draws inspiration from life and the people around her. Unprecedented acts of kindness of ordinary people during the calamitous pandemic that have occasionally dispelled the gloom all around, have inspired her to pen stories of hope, drawing upon heartwarming experiences from her surroundings. Through this compilation of short stories, the author has endeavoured to share these happy thoughts with her readers and bring cheer to their hearts.
