P. Janardhan Upadhya studied MA Economics from Mysore University. He has taught economics for more than 40 years to students of BCom, BBM, BA, MA, MBA and MCom in various colleges under Mysore University and Bangalore University. He retired as Head of Department of Economics at Acharya Pathasala College of Commerce in 1995. Post retirement, he worked as the HOD of Economics in the East West College of Management for about four years. He also served as the HOD of Economics in the R.K and K.K Institutes of Management Studies in Bangalore. He has travelled abroad extensively and has broadened his knowledge base on the subject. He has authored many books and has also co-authored Business Economics with M.L. Jhingan, written for MBA students.
