Dr. Bharat Kulkarni
Dr. Bharat Kulkarni is a consultant on policy advisory and development of Commodity Exchanges and structured finance. Bharat worked with The United Nations Development Program as part of the team that set up the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange, Ethiopia, first commodity exchange in East Africa, where he worked till 2011. By then the exchange was recording a daily turnover of more than six million USD. Presently, works as consultant on several agri-policy initiatives of governments and large scale business investment projects of private sector, including governments in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi through agencies like The World Bank, USAID, IFC, and many others. He is a PhD in Economics and regularly speaks at various forums globally on issues around agri trade and policies. He has been awarded by leadership excellence award for his work on Commodity Exchanges in Africa.
