Amrit Narain, the author of the book Empower Yourself, is an entrepreneur at heart with a never-say-die attitude. He belongs to an old, reputable family of jewelers from Delhi, the capital of India. He was brought up under the influence of his profoundly religious grandmother and philosophical father. His mother had passed away very early in his life. Though not a typical religious person himself (in the sense of visiting sacred places and obeying rituals), he is a firm believer in God and respects others’ point of views.
Though his inadvertent journey on a philosophical path started in the mid-’90s, he began to make intentional efforts in this direction only 15 years ago. Exploring some old spiritual theories along with various materials on modern-age thinking, gradually, through study, keen observations, contemplation, experiments and careful discrimination between many kinds of hypes and deep subtle realities—scribbling, sketching and taking notes—revealed to him the characteristics and nature of life. All this made him realize the unlimited potential of the human psyche.
