Dr. Ilango Ponnuswami is currently Professor in Social Work at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India. He has been a Social Work educator for more than 35 years. His specific areas of interest are Mental health, Gerontology and Community Development. He was also a Cairns Institute visiting scholar at the James Cook University, Australia during 2012. He has been actively involved in the field of ageing since 1995.
