Satyakam Sengupta
Satyakam Sengupta was born in 1955, at Ranchi, erstwhile Bihar. He completed his schooling from Bishop Westcott Boys’ School, Namkum, Ranchi, in the year 1971, and moved on to Calcutta in the fall of 1973. He graduated from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur, and went on to earn his Master’s in English from Calcutta University. After a long spell of service in UCO Bank, he opted for voluntarily retirement in 2014, to settle at Sinthee, North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. Composing imaginative poetry, dabbling with colours and sketching black and white impressions have been his hobbies since childhood. This happens to be his second book of poetry. The first entitled ‘we have grown together’, was published in 2016.
