Lakshmi, at 65 years of age, looks back on events that impacted her beliefs and reflects on the sociological and technical revolution that has taken place in India. She observes and understands the impact these dynamic changes have had on her and other Indians.
“What to do? You are a girl, and I can’t let you do these things.” Lakshmi grew up hearing her parents say this to her many times. Whether it was higher studies or travel, her gender seemed to be an impediment.
As she grew up, she found this attitude slowly changing. All her life Lakshmi had battled many demons, and now, she is a successful entrepreneur. But is this what she wanted, or has happiness eluded her?
Lalitha Murthy
Lalitha Murthy is a teacher and a trainer who chanced upon writing during the pandemic. Writing her first book, a novel, was a release that took her on an imaginary journey during the forced seclusion.
As an army wife, she has traveled all over India and worked in places like Akhnoor and Jodhpur, where she had a chance to meet many interesting people and also observe different facets of human nature. She now works as a business communication consultant and interacts with young employees in global organizations, which keeps her youthful. This has also given her material for her book!
She and her husband, Brigadier R S Murthy, live in Bangalore when they are not visiting their children and grandchildren abroad.
