After the massacre of hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits, brutal rapes of their women, charred, brutally mutilated bodies found on the fields, roadsides, middle of the markets, before and after the black day in the dirty history of Kashmir, hundreds of thousands of Hindus were forced to flee the valley. As a result of being targeted by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Islamist insurgents, during late 1989 and early 1990 they were forced to flee leaving behind a piece of themselves.
