Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalHAPPINESS is the seed of good health. And poems are an effective means to achieve this in young children.
In the age of digital and virtual technologies, joyful poems bring alive imagination and provide means for parents, teachers, and other caregivers to connect with children organically, fortifying the emotional life of both involved.
A handy guide of sorts, the book highlights the ways in which poems serve as an opportunity to bond as well as educate children in ingenious and creative ways, altering your relationship to both poems and your children.
Penned by an educator with decades of experience of educating and enriching children through creativity, her poems have made many a child giggle and prance around happily as they sang them.
Bandana Basu
A postgraduate and a trained teacher, Bandana’s childhood was deeply steeped in literary and visual arts and crafts, both at school and home. She attributes her unrelenting quest for knowing and creating to the encouraging yet undemanding home environment.
As a teacher, she invested her entire career in evolving as an educator with the mission of making education a lively and happy experience for children everywhere. Taking the next organic step forward she co-founded SHISHYAA, a Waldorf Inspired School in Navi Mumbai, India based on the wisdom and philosophy of Dr. Rudolf Steiner.
Besides writing poetry, her other facets include being a story writer, a blogger, teacher mentor, and school advisor. She also loves to read, travel, sing, paint and indulge in a lot of handwork.
Children inspire as well as energise her. Her poems are lucid and carry a sense of contentment and serenity that calms the listener. She works on their imagination through imagery, making each little poem a joy to sing and remember. Her deep observation and understanding of children and their emotional needs lends itself to the style of the poems she pens. The craft and the play of words fascinate her, and she loves to toy around with them.
