John Parankimalil, M.A.(Eng), M.Ed, Ph.D (Education, Gauhati University), is a member of the Salesian Congregation (SDBs) presently the Secretary of the Salesian Provincial Conference South Asia (SPCSA), and Secretary of All India Don Bosco Education Society (AIDBES), New Delhi. He was the Director of Don Bosco Institute of Management; and Rector and Director of Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati. He received the Computer Excellence Award from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India in 2002 when he was the Principal of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong. He was the National President of All India Association of Catholic Schools (AINACS) in New Delhi. He was the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Orchid City, Shillong. He was presented with the Guruvar Best Teacher award by Shri Kapil Sibal, Union HRD Minister in 2009. He was the Principal of Don Bosco College and Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura. He was awarded the title, ‘Pioneer of Education’ & ‘Green Mission Champion’ Award by Dr Mukul M Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya in 2014 and 2015 respectively. He has authored 16 books, besides writing numerous articles in newspapers and magazines. He is an ardent educationist, a story-teller and a motivational speaker.
