V.K.Soi is a former director in the Finance Department of Jammu and Kashmir. His passion for the exotic beauty of Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh started in the year 1990 when, for the first time, he visited Ladakh and Zanskar in his official capacity and later on in the nineties when he was posted as the first Chief Controller of Finance, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council. All these years he has traveled in all the regions of Ladakh such as Changthang, Nubra valley and Zanskar. This publication is based on his vast and varied knowledge of the Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh and Zanskar.
