Varuna Pathak
Dr. Varuna Pathak was born and raised in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. A scholar since her days at St. Patrick’s Junior College, she topped the Agra Division ICSE tenth board examination. Her inclination to academics led her to Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, where she graduated and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, bagging the prestigious, R.K Sharma and Nawal Kishore Gold Medals.
Marrying Dr. Sudeep Pathak she moved to Bhopal. Starting her medical teaching career at Gandhi Medical College Bhopal, she is currently working at a private medical college as a Professor and Head of the department.
Dr. Varuna’s passion extends beyond academia into significant social service and public health Advocacy. As a prolific writer and poet, Dr. Varuna’s insights on the Covid pandemic were published in a local magazine, receiving wide acclaim. Her poetry on menopause won the national first prize from The Indian Menopause Society. Further amplifying her voice in public health, and being a mother herself, of two, Dr. Varuna is an active member of the Mothers Against Vaping campaign, an initiative by the Think Change Forum based in Delhi.
