Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius was a Stoic philosopher and a Roman emperor and one of the last rulers known as The Five Good Emperors. Much of his education is credited to his grandfather, Marcus Annius Verus II, who raised Marcus Aurelis following the death of his father. His philosophy emphasized self-restraint, duty, and respect. Unlike many philosophers of his time, Marcus Aurelis is recognized for being the embodiment of his philosophy.
