Francis H. Fernandes
Francis H. Fernandes (The Emo Poet) was born and raised in The State of Kuwait, a small peninsular country in the Middle East. He began writing in 2016, starting with poems and short quotes. His work revolves around the situations he was faced with in his life, and he also weaves the pains of others into his writings. Not too long ago, he took to reading books and writing his own songs. In September 2019, he embraced 'The Emo Poet' as his pen name on his social media (Facebook and Instagram).
Francis is an openly gay, androgynous (in terms of his gender expression) and homoromantic demisexual (an identity that lies on the asexuality spectrum) writer, and the Co-founder and Former Chairman of Goa Rainbow Trust — an NGO based in Goa, India for the welfare of the LGBTQIA+ Community. One of his very first poems on diversity is 'I'm Human Too', where he encourages the world to see each other as human beings and treat one another with equal respect. In his own words, "diversity is acceptable, division is not". He believes that through love and acceptance of differences, the world can be made a better place for the future generations to come.
