This is a collection of 19 short reflective poems and 4 long narrative poems . Themes of loneliness, purposelessness and disillusionment are inextricably woven into the texture of these poem which are strongly imbued with a sense of the loss of innocence. Moreover, these poems are utterances regarding the erosion of values of family, friendship, love, society and culture. These poems represent a realm where a lonely soul struggles for its salvation which remains as elusive at the end of the ordeal as it was at the very beginning. They exude a sense of utter resignation in the face of an impending catastrophe.

Shahzada Asfaque Hussain Ansari is currently working as an Assistant Teacher at Rashtriya Free Primary School, Howrah, West Bengal. He completed his Honours in English Literature from Calcutta University and his Post Graduation from IGNOU. This is his first collection of poems to be published.
