George Orwell

George Orwell (25 June 1903 – 21 January 1950) was an English journalist, novelist, essayist and a political critic born in 1903 at Bengal Presidency in British-governed India. Born as Eric Arthur Blair, Orwell was known by his pen name for his take on social injustice, totalitarianism, imperialism and was an advocate of socialism. Among the many fiction and non-fiction works produced by Orwell over a period of years, he was popular for the allegorical Animal Farm published in 1945 and the ant-utopian novel 1984 against totalitarianism.
