Chander Mehra, 83, journalist-editor-columnist- author. Hospitalized for seven years, he has worked in senior positions in India and Africa . He has survived through trying times during the regimes of African tyrants as well as during the Emergency in India. In one African state, he was detained without trial thrice because his commentaries were inimical to the dictatorial regime. A cancer-survivor, he has been hospitalized for seven years, and has published Soldiers Of Allah (Publish America, Maryland, USA)..immediate, after the publication JIHAD REDISCOVERED, a group of hooligans claiming to be FRIENDS OF ISLAM Burn down the entire premises of Publish America and gun down the owners if the novel was not immediately withdrawn and its entire script and technical documents and metal sheets were not destroyed.. Mr. Mehra has interviewed at least five Indian Prime Ministers: Indira Gandhi, Atal Behari Vajpayee, Morarji Desai, Inder Kumar Gujral and Chandrashekhar. He has also interviewed several African leaders.
