Girija kumari R P was born in a nondescript village of Peechottukonam,Vizhinjam,in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.She is the second child of Ramakrishnan and Padmakshi, a very humble couple.She graduated in Nursing in 1990, and working as Nursing professional in Sree Chitra Tirunal Hospital ,Thiruvananthapuram since 1991.She is married to Johnson and they are blessed with a son Abi G john, and a daughter Aber G John.
