Dr. Onkar Singh, the founder Vice Chancellor of Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur during Dec 2013 to April 2017, is the Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Harcourt Butler Technical University (Formerly HBTI), Kanpur since January 2007. He started his career as Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering at Institute of Engg. & Technology, Lucknow in May 1991 and served as Lecturer / Senior Lecturer upto August 1999 and as Assistant Professor and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Harcourt Butler Technical University (Formerly HBTI), Kanpur since August 1999. He served as Additional Controller of Examination at Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow during August 2004 to January 2007. Dr. Singh has also been the Vice Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow during 30th April, 2015 to 4th August, 2015 . Dr. Singh has authored 11 books, edited 05 conference proceedings and written 11 chapters in different books. He has published 122 papers in International/ National journals and 109 papers in proceedings of International / National conferences. Dr. Singh has guided 13 Ph.D. students along with large no. of Dissertations/Projects at PG/UG level and completed 08 sponsored projects from different agencies.
