Akanksha Kanjilal hails from the city of joy—Kolkata. Born and raised in Kolkata, she was fortunate enough to be surrounded by the richness of arts and the cultural heritage of theatre. She lives in and calls Mumbai her home now.
As an ardent reader of poems, right from an early age in life, she immersed herself in reading works of all kinds of genres available in the literary world. Rabindranath Tagore, Khalil Gibran, Rumi, Gulzar, Manto, and Franz Kafka are her favorites—to name a few.
She believes that “poetry is a magical space—some sort of an escape” from this mundane world. Her writings depict this as they form a stream of steady conscious thoughts—splurging and translating into paper. As a highly sensitive human being, she channels her observations and emotions. This is her honest attempt to capture this essence of life. Her work depicts a strong influence of spirituality in it.
