K.S. Prasad served as Vice-Principal, Netarhat Residential School; Principal, DAV School, Patratu, Begusarai; Chairman of SGBMS, Ranchi; Educational Adviser/Consultant, Barauni Refinery, I.O.C.

He has organised various NCERT, national integration camps; is a resource person for the training of primary and secondary teachers selected from twelve states of India in groups through SCERT and NCERT; has prepared project reports for co-ed senior secondary residential school, Bihar with Ed. C.I.L (India) Ltd, Govt of India; worked as a member of the evaluation sub-committee for instructional material in Dallas.

He has participated in NCTM, San Antonio, as an official delegate for the development of Science and Mathematics teaching. He has been invited as a guest speaker at the Greater Council of Teacher of Mathematics, annual meeting; and, has to his credit more than fifteen education-related broadcasts on All India Radio.

He taught in the USA through Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programme and got appreciation from the United States Commissioner of Education and other appreciation of mementoes/plates from NOBA, DAV, and other societies, one of which was awarded by the Governor of Jharkhand.

He has travelled the world over to countries like the UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka and visited the school there.

He received the prestigious National Award of Teachers from the then President of India Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma.
