Priya Somaiya
Priya Somaiya is a Kashmiri Pandit and was born and brought up in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. She has travelled extensively in India, including Rajasthan, particularly along the desert borders. Dr Somaiya has four decades of work experience as an HR practitioner and is a leading HR consultant and OD specialist of India. She has contributed immensely to the Social Services and Development sector. She has been engaged in interventions and initiatives for the skilling of rural women across India and the SAARC region. She has led the Usha Silai School initiative for skilling in sewing and stitching all over Rajasthan, and during her work has interacted many times with the Gypsy tribes of the Thar Desert borders and heard tales that reflected astounding experiences and evolution of these communities over centuries. She has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Allahabad University.
