Jillian Nagra is a self-taught, accomplished artist, writer, poet and sculptor. Under grad at Barnet College Herts she appeared on the BBC representing her College 1975 for an inter-college quiz. Born in Calcutta of mixed parentage (AngloWelsh-Jewish) and raised in London. Currently residing at Kolkata with her husband, daughter & the love of her life-little Pommie ‘Missy Miyake’
Jill began her scribbling at the wee age of 6 has written for the ‘Junior Statesman’ regularly way back then in 1970-71 And wrote frequently for Diana (magazine for girls - UK. 1975-76) as well as Hello mag and the Beano comic.
Several of her painting have been sold all over the globe and and she has received 'Best Painting' & 'Excellence' awards thrice 5,6, 8 & 12 years ago consecutively at painting contests/exhibitions held at Calcutta Academy of Fine Arts where Mayor Sri Sovan Chatterjee awarded her 5 trophy’s & 3 certificates - 7th July 2010
She has consecutively won ‘best poet awards’ from International Society of Poets’ 5 years running 2005 - 2010. Her work has been has been published by Forward Press, Anchor books and Noble House and she has a Poetry Fellowship Award 2015 from Noble House UK.
